RROD

[Sigh]

My Xbox 360 got the dreaded Red Ring of Death yesterday. I went out and bought a replacement Xbox 360 (arcade version), and will try to repair the old one over the next couple of days. I've read that the RRoD is primarily due to a heat issue. The old one is out of warranty, so I've got nothing to lose.

UGH....The Dreaded RROD.....I can see why tho...Let's just say with the XBox in the Living room, we don't have to worry about heat in the winter. That thing can put it out.

Yup, buy one of those twenty dollar 'intercoolers' that clip to the back, or just point a desk fan at it when you're using it.

Check the xbox website tho, I think they still repair consoles bricked by the RROD for free long after the warranty expires.

Ugh, that stinks! Good luck on the repair!

Tried the repair and it didn't work. I may tinker with it a bit more, but I'll probably just keep it for spare parts.

I had two old-school Xbox consoles. Both of them had the DVD player crap out. That taught me to keep the old consoles.
